The Foundation was created to assist, support and expand the activities and services of the ARTÈRE Association in order to facilitate the social integration of people who have had a stroke and to help their caregivers.

Strokes : A few statistics

20,000 strokes

In the province of Quebec, about 20,000 people suffer a stroke each year. In the Quebec-Chaudières-Appalaches area, approximately 20,000 people live with stroke-associated disabilities.

65% of people

65% of people living in the community live with stroke-associated disabilities requiring the assistance of another person for their everyday activities (for example, getting around, financial management and housekeeping).

50% of caregivers

Almost 50% of primary caregivers experience mental health issues in the year following a stroke of their spouse, parent or friend.

Our achievements

Thanks to the Foundation's various events, we are constantly working to grow our mission, which aims to facilitate the social reintegration of people who have suffered a stroke and help their caregivers by means of the activities and services offered by the ARTÈRE organization.
