Give to support

Thanks to various Foundation events, we constantly strive to expand our mission that aims to facilitate the social reintegration of people who have suffered a stroke and to help their caregivers with the activities and services offered by the ARTÈRE organization.

The main focus of the Foundation is to raise funds to enable the ARTÈRE organization to expand its activities and services. By contributing financially to the ARTÈRE organization, the Foundation promotes the development of new programs such as a respite program for caregivers and the FAME mobility training program as well as the support of research projects like a psychosocial program in collaboration with Laval University and the promotion of such services to the population.

Come along to move with US !

May 13, 2023

For its second year, the Come along for a walk with us event presented by Beneva took place on the Domaine de Maizerets site. Once again this year, the Foundation's objective was to highlight its mission as well as that of the ARTÈRE organization to promote the offer of services available, in the community, to people who have suffered a stroke as well as to their caregivers.

Thanks to the support of Beneva, as presenting partner, and several other partners, sponsors, participants and donors, the ARTÈRE Foundation managed to raise $27,780. The event took place under the honorary presidency of Ms. Julie Pelchat, vice president - optimization of business solutions - group insurance, individual insurance and financial services at Beneva. In addition, we would like to highlight the presence of the ambassador of the ARTÈRE Foundation, Ms. Laurence St-Germain, world champion in alpine skiing.

The Foundation would like to thank all the volunteers, participants, partners and sponsors who made this second edition a success!

On May 14, the first walk organized by the ARTÈRE organization in collaboration with the ARTÈRE Foundation took place. The site of the event was the linear park of Rivière-Saint-Charles. The objective was to raise awareness of the ARTÈRE Foundation and its services and activities.

At the end of this first edition, the amount raised made it possible for the ARTÈRE organization to initiate the FAME mobility program :

The “Fitness and Mobility Exercise (FAME)” program is a group exercise program based on best practices. The latter was developed by Dr. Janice Eng, Professor at the University of British Columbia for people recovering from stroke. This program is currently used to support stroke recovery at more than 600 sites in more than 21 countries. The benefits of this program on strength, balance, endurance, bone density and the reduction of falls have been demonstrated in clinical studies involving people recovering their mobility after a stroke.

The program, offered twice a week, for six weeks, is guidance by a professional trained in the reality of people who have suffered a stroke (e.g. kinesiologist, physiotherapist, etc.). It is designed for adults who can stand for at least five minutes and who can walk 10 meters (with or without a walking aid). Participants in a pilot study to implement the FAME program carried out by the ARTÈRE organization, in collaboration with ADAPTAVIE, reported mobility gains associated with a better quality of life.
